Communication, Language and LiteracyCommunication, Language and Literacy: Children should be able to enjoy and have confidence in listening, speaking and reading simple text which can be readily applied to their play and learning.

  • All of the children are read to daily at least 5-6 stories throughout the day
  • Communication with the children using body language and verbal sounds are continuous starting with sounds with the babies
  • Children are taught that listening to each other is just as important as speaking
  • The children are encouraged to retell stories in their own words
  • The children sing songs and rhymes everyday
  • As children go into the pre-school room they learn their letter sounds and how to write their name and simple words.
