back to the Curriculum Index Page

Children in the ParkThe Every Child Matters is a framework that was introduced by the government in 2003 following the tragic death of Victoria Climbie. Lord Laming came up with recommendations of how we could prevent further fatalities of this nature. Below is a list of the five areas that have been implemented and which the nursery follow:

  • Being healthy: enjoying good physical and mental health and living a healthy lifestyle
  • Staying safe: being protected from harm and neglect; growing up able to look after themselves
  • Enjoying and achieving: getting the most out of life and developing the skills for adulthood
  • Making a positive contribution: to the community and to society and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour
  • Achieving economic wellbeing: overcoming socio-economic disadvantages to achieve full potential in life
  • Every child does matter to us at Polly‚Äôs day nursery and we work hard to provide the best care and education to all of the children in our care.
